Hi James!
I've been living in Perugia, Italy for the last 11 years and, being out of touch with events 'back home' for so long, missed out on many your achievements during that time. Your recent programmes in the series called in Italian 'l'Uomo d'Accaio' (Tr: Man of Steel), which I've been lucky enough to have seen in English on Italian SKY TV, have been a true joy to watch - credit to you and your incredible team. It must be wonderful to have such supportive and knowledgeable experts behind you. I don't watch much TV, but the shows are so 'real', a bit like Bear Grills's survival series (Have you seen it? I'm a big fan of his!) and I love all that outdoor challenge-survival stuff(!) that I'm compelled to watch and, being made so well, in a funny way feel like I'm there alongside you every gruelling step and pedal stroke of the way. Tremendous stuff! Well done! Congratulations to you on your determination, particularly in the Yukon when you really hung in there despite the terrible cAndy Harrison -
Hi James, One year ago on the 14th of this month i was 18.5 stone with a 40 inch waist! chunky to say the least, i couldn't run 0.5km on a treadmill!! i broke my back cycling in 2007 and just lost all motivation! so packed on the pounds....
I ran the London marathon in 2011, Bristol 10k, Manchester-Blackpool cycle, Bristol 1/2. All of which including training 5 times a week have got me in the mind set and the fitness to sign up for more events this year including the London Marathon 2012 and Ironman 70.3 in June.
I am now 13 stone with a 32 inch waist and i have lost over 5.5 stone. I am so focused on achieving my goals in 2012 and i just wanted to say you are an inspiration to me and i cant count how many times i have thought about your challenges when i am running in the rain and dark nights!
Maybe if you around London in April for the marathon it would be great to meet the man behind the strongest mindset in Britain!!
Hope you well.. Barney Jones
